Eligibility: Entries are open to amateur golfers who are bona fide public course players at a public Mass Golf member club (a course/club that provides playing opportunities for the general public seven days a week) and maintain an up-to-date Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 12.0 (as determined by the June 4, 2020 Handicap Revision). Players who have playing privileges or who have an established handicap at any private club are ineligible, with the exception of:

a) Players competing on a school golf team, provided those privileges are limited to scheduled practices and competitions; or
b) Players employed by a private club, provided their playing privileges
I. Are limited in nature;
II. Are consistent with those offered other employees;
III. Do not allow participation in any club tournaments; and
IV. No handicap is maintained at the private club.
Entry Procedures: Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.
Format: Competition will be in two stages:

1. Sectional Qualifying - 18 Holes at Stroke Play (for all except exempt entrants)
2. Championship Proper - 36 Holes at Stroke Play
Field: The Championship Proper field is limited to 120 players (approx; based on qualifying ties).

5. Top fifteen (15) finishers and ties in the 2019 Richard D. Haskell Player of the Year standings, if eligible
6. Top four (4) finishers and ties in the 2019 George M. Cohen Senior Player of the Year standings, if eligible
7. 2019 Player of the Year, Junior Player of the Year and Senior Player of the Year, if eligible
8. 2019 Amateur Round of 32, if eligible
9. 2019 NEGA Amateur and Senior Amateur Champions, if eligible
9. 2019 NEGA Amateur and Senior Amateur Champions, if eligible

***The low 60 scorers and ties after 18-holes will continue play on August 11
Round 2 - August 11 (18 Holes)
Any tie for first place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.
Caddies &
Automotive
Transportation: 
Players may use caddies, pull carts (at the host clubs(s) discretion) and/or automotive transportation during Sectional Qualifying and Championship Proper.
Food/Beverage:  A complimentary luncheon will be provided for all competitors on August 10.
Starting Times: Qualifying Round Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries.
Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the last qualifying.
Prizes: The Ray C. Bump, Jr. trophy will be presented to the Champion. Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy
Competitors, who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office in writing (e-mail is acceptable and encouraged) or by phone. Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified in writing or by phone seven days prior to each event (Championship, or Qualifier). Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven days prior to each event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event (Championship or Qualifier).
