Eligibility: Entries are open to amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club not exceeding 4.4 (as determined by the May 7, 2020 Handicap Revision), or who have completed their handicap certification.
Entry Procedures: Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.
Format: Competition will be in two stages;

1. Sectional Qualifying - 18 Holes at Stroke Play (For all except Exempt entrants).
2. Championship Proper - 36 Holes at Stroke Play followed by Match Play (32 Qualifiers)
Field: The Championship Proper field is limited to 144 players (approx; based on qualifying ties).

5. Top fifteen (15) finishers and ties in the 2018 Richard D. Haskell Player of the Year standings
6. 2018 Ouimet Memorial Tournament Champion, if eligible
7. 2018 Player of the Year, Junior Player of the Year and Senior Player of the Year
8. 2018 NEGA Amateur and Senior Amateur Champion, if eligible
9. Any Mass Golf member who qualified for the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship, if eligible
10. Any Mass Golf member who qualified for the 2018 U.S. Senior Open Championship, if eligible

Schedule: Sectional Qualifying - May 29 - June 26

Championship Proper
Round 1 - July 15 (18 Holes)
Round 2 - July 16 (18 Holes)
***The low 32 scorers will advance to Match Play on July 17. A tie for the final qualifying places will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff.

Match Play - General Numeric Draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by the order in which scores are returned, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off and if necessary, a blind draw.

Round of 32 (AM) - July 17
Round of 16 (PM) - July 17
Quarterfinals (AM) - July 18
Semifinals (PM) - July 18
Finals (AM/PM) - July 19 (36 Holes)
In the event of a tied match, (a) the winner shall be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off, and (b) the stipulated round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won.
Caddies &
Automotive
Transportation: 
Players may use caddies, pull carts (at the host clubs(s) discretion) and/or automotive transportation (if available) during Sectional Qualifying. Automotive transportation is NOT permitted in the Championship Proper.
Food/Beverage:  A complimentary luncheon will be provided for all competitors on July 15.
Starting Times: Qualifying Round Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries.
Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the last qualifier.
Prizes: The Massachusetts Cup will be presented to the Champion. Merchandise certificates will be awarded to the 32 Match Play Qualifiers and are only redeemable at the host site.

The Medalist(s) during the stroke play portion will be awarded the Harry B. McCracken, Jr. Medal.
Trophy: The Massachusetts Cup

Withdrawal/Refund Policy
Competitors, who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office in writing (e-mail is acceptable and encouraged) or by phone. Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified in writing or by phone seven days prior to each event (Championship, or Qualifier). Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven days prior to each event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event (Championship or Qualifier).
