Eligibility: | Entries are open to amateur golfers who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club and who have reached their 14th birthday and will not reach their 19th birthday by midnight August 6, 2020. 2020 CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE! Sectional qualifiers have been CANCELED. All currently registered players, both exempt & non-exempt will compete in the championship proper at Cranberry Valley GC. A waitlist has been established for non-exempt players - please email Steven Yatrousis (syatrousis@massgolf.org) to be added to the waitlist. The schedule of events for the championship proper have been adjusted to the following: Monday, Aug 3rd - 18-holes of stroke play for 84 competitors. Tuesday, Aug 4th - 18 holes of stroke play for an additional 84 competitors. Wednesday, Aug 5th - the low 16 overall will advance to match play and the Round of 16 and Quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday. If a playoff is needed for the final match play qualifying spot(s), it will be scheduled for Wednesday morning. Thursday, Aug 6th - the Semifinals and Finals will be played. |

Schedule: | Sectional Qualifying - June 19 - June 28 Championship Proper Round 1 - August 6 (18 Holes) Round 2 - August 7 (18 Holes) ***The low 16 scorers will advance to Match Play on August 8. A tie for the final qualifying places will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff. Match Play - General Numeric Draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by the order in which scores are returned, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off and if necessary, a blind draw. Round of 16 (AM) - August 8 Quarterfinals (PM) - August 8 Semifinals (AM) - August 9 Finals (PM) - August 9 (18 Holes) In the event of a tied match, (a) the winner shall be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off, and (b) the stipulated round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won. |
Caddies & Automotive Transportation: | Players are not permitted to use caddies or automotive transportation during Sectional Qualifying or Championship Proper. |
Food/Beverage: | Mass Golf will be providing a complimentary luncheon for all competitors at Sectional Qualifying sites as well as each day of the Championship Proper. |
Starting Times: | Qualifying Round Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries. Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the last qualifying. |
Prizes: | The Junior Amateur Champion (14-18) will be presented the Charles E. Mason Trophy. The Pre-Junior Champion (14-15) will be presented the Joseph M. Batchelder Memorial Trophy as the low 18 Hole scorer at the conclusion of stroke play. There will be no play-off for the Pre-Junior Champion, co-champions will be recognized. Merchandise certificates will be awarded to the 16 Match Play Qualifiers and are only redeemable at the host site(s). |

Withdrawal/Refund Policy Competitors, who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office in writing (e-mail is acceptable and encouraged) or by phone. Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified in writing or by phone seven days prior to each event (Championship, or Qualifier). Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven days prior to each event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event (Championship or Qualifier).
